01

Find your district

Lorson Ranch has seven separate districts. Ask which district includes your home before you apply.

02

Check eligibility

You must be a Colorado registered voter and either live in that district or own taxable property there.

03

Ask about a vacancy

The official roster currently lists vacancies for the shared MD 1, 5, 6, and 7 roster and for MD 3. Confirm whether a seat is still open.

A board may appoint a qualified person to a vacancy until the next regular election.

04

File to run

Complete a self-nomination and acceptance form. Your signature needs a witness who is an eligible Colorado elector.

Next regular election

Regular special-district elections are held in May of odd-numbered years.

Expected election: May 4, 2027

The normal self-nomination deadline is 67 days before the election. That would be February 26, 2027. Confirm the actual deadline when the district posts its Call for Nominations.

A write-in affidavit normally has a later deadline. Ask the Designated Election Official for the current form and dates.
