Scope and Operator
Graysect operates DataSplinter and is responsible for the information practices described in this policy. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit datasplinter.com or contact the service. DataSplinter provides public access to summaries of public government records. Browsing does not require an account, login, or payment.
For privacy questions or requests, contact records@datasplinter.com. The address is written as text to reduce automated spam.
Information We Handle
Website requests. Cloudflare may process an IP address, request time, requested URL, referring page, browser and device information, approximate location based on network information, and security signals when it delivers or protects the site.
Messages you send. The site has no account system or public submission form. If you email a DataSplinter address, the message may include your email address, message, attachments, and ordinary email-routing information.
Theme preference. If you use the light or dark theme control on the Lorson Ranch page, the browser stores the choice under the key datasplinter-theme. It contains only the selected theme.
Do not send private personal information, confidential records, account numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information, or anything that should not be handled through a public-service website inbox.
How We Use Information
Information is used to deliver and secure the site, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, understand aggregate traffic, answer messages, review corrections, address accessibility reports, and maintain public records projects.
DataSplinter does not use site information for targeted advertising, behavioral profiles, or decisions about a person's eligibility for housing, credit, employment, insurance, or public benefits.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides DNS, hosting, content delivery, security, request analytics, and email routing. Cloudflare processes technical request and security information to provide those services. Messages sent to a DataSplinter address pass through Cloudflare Email Routing, a SimpleLogin email alias, and the receiving mailbox provider.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled to report page views and website performance. Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free and states that it does not collect or use visitors' personal data or track people across websites. DataSplinter uses these reports for site performance and publishing decisions, not advertising profiles.
Read how Cloudflare Web Analytics works and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Google Search Console
DataSplinter uses a DNS record to verify domain ownership with Google Search Console. Search Console provides reports about how public pages appear and perform in Google Search. The DNS record is not a browser tracker.
The site does not load Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google advertising tags, or Google-hosted fonts. Google Search and linked Google services have their own privacy practices.
Cookies and Browser Storage
DataSplinter does not set cookies during normal public browsing. It does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or analytics cookies.
The optional theme preference uses local browser storage, not a cookie. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if a security or bot-protection feature needs one for a particular request. Cloudflare controls the name and duration of any such cookie.
Because the current site does not use nonessential cookies or similar tracking, it does not display a cookie-consent banner. This will be reviewed before adding advertising, audience profiling, embedded media, or nonessential analytics.
When Information Is Shared
Technical information and messages may be handled by service providers that operate the site, route email, provide a mailbox, or protect the service. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site or others, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer.
DataSplinter does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and Security
Messages and related records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, document a correction or source review, meet legal obligations, or protect the service. Cloudflare and other providers apply their own retention schedules to logs and service data.
DataSplinter uses reasonable safeguards, including HTTPS, restrictive browser security headers, limited third-party scripts, and role-based contact addresses. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your Choices and Requests
Depending on where you live and whether a privacy law applies, you may have rights to confirm processing, access personal information, correct it, delete it, or receive a portable copy. You may make a request by writing to records@datasplinter.com with the subject Privacy Request. DataSplinter may need enough information to verify and complete the request.
If a request is denied, you may ask for another review by using the subject Privacy Appeal. Some information may be retained when required by law or needed for security, recordkeeping, or a pending correction review.
The site does not sell personal information or use targeted advertising, so there is no separate sale or targeted-advertising opt-out. Browser privacy signals do not change that practice.
Where Information Is Processed
Cloudflare and other service providers may process information in the United States and other places where they operate. Privacy laws may differ between locations. DataSplinter relies on its providers' contractual and legal safeguards for their processing.
External Links
DataSplinter links to public agencies, district websites, document portals, and other external sources. Those sites may have their own privacy practices and logging systems.
Children
DataSplinter is a public-records resource for homeowners and the general public. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information, contact records@datasplinter.com.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when site features, providers, legal requirements, or information practices change. The effective date will be updated when a material change is published.
